چکیده

The Chinese alligator (Alligator sinensis) belongs to the genus Alligator, which is a unique crocodile in China. In order study macroscopic structure of heart alligator, we performed detailed cardiac anatomy on five specimens. cranial mediastinum. It caudally involved by liver margins, and ventrally ribs, intercostal muscles, sternum dorsally lungs. wild typical four-chamber heart, with two (right left) atria ventricles, left right aorta, pulmonary artery subclavian branch from aorta. Morphology measures circumference (129.36 mm), weight (44.14 g), length apex bottom (52.50 mm). Studies have shown that shape alligator’s consistent other crocodiles.

Ontogeny of baroreflex control in the American alligator Alligator mississippiensis.

Baroreflex regulation appears in different species at different points in embryonic development. This study was designed to understand the development of the baroreflex in embryos of the American alligator at four different points of embryonic development (60%, 70%, 80% and 90% of a total incubation period of 72 days) and in 1-week-old hatchlings. Data from a separate study on 1-year-old alliga...

Biophysics of directional hearing in the American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis).

Physiological and anatomical studies have suggested that alligators have unique adaptations for spatial hearing. Sound localization cues are primarily generated by the filtering of sound waves by the head. Different vertebrate lineages have evolved external and/or internal anatomical adaptations to enhance these cues, such as pinnae and interaural canals. It has been hypothesized that in alliga...

Pelvic aspiration in the American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis).

The pelvis of crocodilians is highly derived in that the pubic bones are isolated from the acetabulum and are attached to the ischia via moveable joints. We examined the possible role of this unusual morphology in lung ventilation by measuring ventilation, abdominal pressure and the electrical activity of several abdominal and pelvic muscles in the American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis...

The heart and electrocardiogram of an alligator.

The phylogenetic evolution of the cardiovascular system of animals and man has been a subject of continued interest. The reported study of the cardiovascular system and electrocardiogram of the alligator bears on this subject. The author has cogently remarked that this journal, which has reported similar studies in the beluga whale, should be the vehicle of his report.-Ed. S PITZER1 in 1923 was...

Febrile response to infection in the American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis).

Temperature probes were inserted into the stomachs of juvenile American alligators (Alligator mississippiensis) maintained outdoors at ambient fluctuating temperatures. Internal body temperatures (T(b)) were measured every 15 min for two days, and then the alligators were injected with bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS), pyrogen-free saline, or left untreated. Alligators injected intraperitonea...
